Because he got run out of Florida for fixing the election results on the computerised voting machines. He actually programmed them so any democradic vote would register republican.

1) Jeb would not stand a chance right now.
2) We desperately need a break from the Bush/Clinton/Bush/ Clinton??? ( shudder) J Bush ( even bigger shudder) cycle. there has been either one or the other somewhere in the White House since 1980.

I agree with one of your previous respondents, he would probably also not have the chance because now they can't really rig the elections in FL as they did in 2000 and especially in 2004. Jeb had fought vigorously against a paper trail for the Deibold machines that were used in 2004. I was witness to the chaos that took place especially during early voting in the most Democratic county in the State, Broward. People complained loudly about what happened when they used made their choices, hit the review button prior to hitting " vote" and watched their votes change from Democratic candidates to Republicans before their very eyes. A strange thing happened though. It appeared on only 1 TV station and it survived 1 newscycle, then poof the story disappeared.
The new governor of the State, Charlie Crist, signed into law last month that ALL voting machines will have a paper trail by 2008 Presidential vote and the Deibold machine are also going to be replaced in time for that race as well

If Cheney resigns, his relacement would have to be approved by Congress, good luck at getting Jeb Bush through Congress.

Jeb himself said America had Bush fatigue and he did not think that America would support another Bush at this point and time.

Jeb Bush is very different from his brother. He is a much more savy politician. 2012 or 2016 he will run.

wel here is what he said (i am a floridian)
"i will not run in 2008"
so he may run in 2012
but think about it
his brother is hated by the media and not favorable with a lot of ppl
so he would be running under the shadow of him
in 4 or 8 years when the hatred has subsided
he may run
i think he would be a good canidate

Maybe he's waiting for the very plausible scenario that the Dems will screw up the next 4 years so badly that he'll be a shoo-in for 2012.

Sort of a Jimmy Carter II scenario.

Because he said years back that President wasn't something he wanted to do. But the underlining tone of the question shows you are hoping people state that the current Bush ruined the name, nice try

I think the liberal media has tarnished the Bush name. Jeb has to lay low for a few years.
