Why is it when somebody asks a serious question there will be 25 people post with a 3 word answer that doesn't make any sense? It's like the answers religion gives for why we should believe in god. I can totally see being a smartass sometimes that's fun but these are often serious attempts at answering as quickly *** possible without any reason or explanation. If you can't back up your answer just move on to something more simple... Why do simpletons thing their half assed opinions need to be put there to waste the space?

I think that some people just don't have the knowledge or understanding to answer some questions in full. These people just do not care about the question at all and do not give a real opinion. All they want to do is gather up these stupid points and not really give an answer. This screws everything up for the people who post the question in the first place because they do not have a real answer and just wasted their time trying to reach out to someone for a help and understanding of a problem. But, I am not one of those people. I type fast and I have a lot to say :-)

laconic is the word
Laconic means brief and blunt.
Its origins, more than 2600 years ago, take it back to the Greek Wars ; i guess between sparta(laconians) and athens.
The Laconians, when told by an enemy ambassador that
"if we come to your city we will raze the walls and kill everyone."
The Laconians replied?
"If."
Since then the word came into existance
And people answering you are not any more than being laconic
also a one-two or three word answer will save them time and will have them score same number of points that a lengthy answer would.
Though they forget to score more by getting a best answer.
Have you also wondered why every answer is not good enough because not everyone can answer every question and they don't have much to say, hence no need to say anymore than they did.
I suggest you to move on to people like me who are writing tomes on your questions

That is very annoying. Those are people who are here for the points only. You'd think the points were money or something. I like being here to answer the questions with LOTS of words, trying to be creative. Keeps my mind sharp!

You referred specifically to a question about believing in God. I'm no Bible scholar, but from what I see posted in answers, most people haven't a clue regarding the matter and two or three words is about all most can muster. I think its more about getting two lousy points than doing a little self education by finding out how to answer a question. I'm here because I like the exchange of information and ideas. Although, a high percentage of the ones I see are not worth exchanging.

I have to admit, that sometimes I answer with simple statements to 1) get the first response 2) be a smart-apple about the question....
I can not really speak for others, but I will put thought and detail into a question that I really feel is worth answering....like this one....

Some people are just trying to log a few points. I think the only two things you really can do is either ignore them or give them a thumbs down. At least that's what I have done.

Seriously though, do you really need this to be explained to you? There are many reason why a person would do this. One of the most likely is to get the coveted "two points" for answering. Other reasons, you've already outlined are part of human nature.
