I do not actually like that the boards are sold as "toys" because I do not believe them to be... instead I see them as a "tool" a and just like any tool it can be helpful or harmful... if abused.

When I was much younger, before I became more intune with the fact that I can speak with spirits, without the aid of a board or other tools... a gift I believe is natrual to all humans, meaning that I believe everyone can speak with spirits if they choose too, however it is a skill that takes practice and patience. And for those that have not developed that skill... then the ouija board is a wonderful tool in aiding in that devlopment.

What you also should know is that when dealing with spirits, many are hungry to have conversation with someone that is alive... and so quite a few will tell you what they "THINK" you want to know rather than what the "truth" of the situation really is.

I have spoken with many spirits and a demon on the board before... and things have gotten out of control in my youth!

I had REAL things happen in the REAL world... such as a VCR spitting a tape back out, and folks this was back when they just did not do that! There was an evening where I was scared half to death when there were some flashing white lights... and I also met one of my spirit guides via the board... a real person I was able to look up and discover the events of her death! Because she shared so much "real" information with me to be able to do so.

When I teach students that are interested in learning how to contact their spirit guides... I do teach that the ouija board can be an aid, a tool to assist in contacting their guides... the folowing info is from my book... the lesson's I teach.

Ok the Ouija board can also be used as a tool to contact your Spirit Guides. Only thing is you have to have someone with you that you trust and want to share something as private as meeting your spirit guides for the first time with. Before you start using the Ouija board let’s talk about it some ok.

First thing you need to know about an Ouija board is that they are not toys! Don’t treat them like a toy, or a joke. They work, why or how I can not fully explain, but they are by far not a toy to be treated lightly. Oh, yes they can be fun, enjoyable and informative, but don’t play with these things.

I love Ouija boards, and I hate them too. You see, from my own personal use of the board I did discover one of my guides, and I have had some fun conversations with those on the other side. I have also helped some of those on the other side via the board. But I have also put my guide into danger due to my silly use of the board as well. I have had some down right scary things happen as well because the board in a way is a portal. And just like when you summon something, if you do not properly banish it then well… it kind of just hangs around!

I can not stress enough that the board is not a toy and that if you use it you need to use it responsibly.

So, how do you use an Ouija board? Well you can purchase one and use it, or you can make one and use it. If you have a glass table you can take and make the alphabet from A to Z cut them out and tape them on the underside of the glass table where you can see the letter though the glass but it is not on the surface. The reason you don’t want them on the surface is because it will hinder the glass from sliding around. If you don’t have a glass table that you can put the letters underneath so you can see them through the table you can draw them on another surface. If you have a smooth piece of cardboard, really smooth you can take a marker and draw the letters from A to Z on there. Now you will also want to add besides the alphabet, a ‘yes’ and a ‘no’ and a ‘goodbye’.

If you are building your own Ouija board, after you have created the letters and all you will need a glass, a small glass like a short juice glass actually works best, not a heavy glass. This glass is what you can use instead of the planchet that comes with a store bought board.

With a store bought board the planchet is the device, most often plastic in a triangle shape with a little circle of clear plastic on its top so that you can see through. You need to see what letter or number that the planchet stops on so that you will know what ever it is that whomever it is, is trying to communicate with you.

I have found that a homemade board works just as well as a store bought so it is up to you whether you use one or the other. Once you are ready and you have your board made or set up, you may want to cleanse your space and burn a candle for protection. It is really quite easy to use a board, you and a friend place your fingertips lightly on the planchet or glass and for starters you ask something like “Is there a good spirit here that would like to speak with us?” And most often within seconds the planchet will start moving around.
There are some spirits that can really move the planchet or glass around quit easily, but there are others that you will discover are kind of slow.

About the Movements of the planchet or the glass:

When a spirit first lets you know that he or she is there often the planchet will move in slow circles or in slow figure eight around the board. Some spirits are very smooth when moving the planchet and others are kind of jerky with it. Some are very fast and some move a slower pace. Some spirits can spell very well, and others can not spell
well at all!

Often if a spirit is waiting for your next question they will either move the planchet around in a circle or back and forth or just sit over to one side or another. If you are asking a yes and no question I suggest that you ask the question more then one time, and ask the spirit if it is telling you the truth.

Lies, I have discovered that many of the spirits will lie to you. Why? I am not sure but most of them do at one point or another lie. Possibly it is because the just don’t know the correct answer, other times it is because it is what the think you want to hear.

If you contact a spirit of someone that you knew when they were alive, make that spirit prove to you with things only you and that person would have know. If it is the true spirit it claims to be then it will answer the questions for you.

Spirits of children are exceptionally playful and often like to play physical tricks. I had one that cut the water on in the bathtub, made the commode over flow, and made a heating system work that had not worked in several years! So yes they can do physical things! I had another that could make hot and cold flashes in an area that could be
experienced by all in the general area. I chatted with another that made the VCR suck a tape back in the tape player, and another that could just make me so mad!

Look, the thing is some spirits are very active, and can play tricks or be harmful. Don’t trust them right off make them prove that they are telling you the truth. Now if you want to speak with a spirit guide then ask for one of your spirit guides to come to you and speak to you. If you feel that you can not control the spirit you call to the board then I would suggest that you cast a circle of salt around you and work the board with in the circle. Remember you can have fun with the board, and some spirits are down right fun to chat with, but my warning to you is, be careful and be cautious. The board can be addictive, and I would not suggest that you use it alone. Why, because alone you are often more gullible to being used and lied too, and actually to misleading yourself as well.

Use the board with caution. It can be a fun and useful tool, or it can be abused and harmful, that is up to you. Just please remember it is not a game.
Now, whenever you are tired of talking with the spirit you need to make sure that you make that spirit say goodbye. That you make that spirit leave and go back to where it came from, and I suggest that until you are sure that the spirit is your actual spirit guide that you ask kindly for that spirit to say goodbye as well.

I also suggest that after you use the board that you clean it off with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Clean not only the board but the planchet or glass as well. The little felt thingys on the bottom of the planchet can get worn out or dirt and dust on them clean them off or replace them when needed.

Be safe and don’t treat it as a game, treat it as a divination tool. Don’t let anyone and everyone borrow your board either. Keep it in a safe place. Remember it is not a toy.

Hope that helps some:)

I totally believe in spirits, good and bad, but I don't want an experience with EITHER of them. Just to give you an idea of how scared I am of spirits or ghosts or whatever you wanna call them, I contacted a medium and asked her what I could do to protect myself. She said to say OUT LOUD, at every house you live in, "I do not wish to be contacted by any spirits, good or bad, I do not want you to try to get my attention." Now I don't know if this really works or not, but years later I went on vacation with a friend to her parents house. They all know how scared I am so they didn't tell me until we left the STATE that the room I slept in was the same room that her brother had hung himself in. My friend slept in their with me and while we were there I couldn't figure out why she would sleep all day, and once we left she told me that it was because she was up all night. The "spirit" had been moving things around all night long and making the room go ice cold. BUT I was never effected by it at all. She said it moved everything in the room except my stuff. So maybe it did work. So with the Ouija board, I wouldn't even allow one in my house!! I'm A BIG BABY & Scaredy cat!

I have had a bad experience with a ouija board when I was 18 years old. I was still young and stupid. One of my roommates had one and we took it out one night and played with it. Well we forgot to put it away, when we went to bed. My boyfriend at the time and I were in our room and I fell asleep. While I was asleep, it felt like something was picking me up and slamming me down on my bed, then right before I woke up red ,smiling develish looking face appeared to me. The spirits were telling me what we did was a major no-no. Ouija boards are definately bad news, and I will never own one or let one into any place I live.

My Mom purchased an ouija board for me for Xmas when I was a kid. My Mom told me scary personal experiences with it (she was into witchcraft when she was a girl), and then said here ya go!
So it was under my bed for years after that (I was too scared to try it).

So many years later in middle school, I tell friends that I have it, and they borrow it. I get it back because again, everyone is too scared to use it. I take it upstairs to place under my bed again...I swear to God! It felt like there was water inside the box! I opened the box and it was just the ouija board.

So of course, I take it outside and leave it in the outdoor shed. Again years pass and we our moving from our house. We are giving a bunch of stuff away. I go out in the shed to check things out, mostly everything in there has rust or water damage on it. I see the ouija board box extremely water damaged, I open the box and the Ouija Board is pristine! No mold, no water, anything on it. I threw it away after that.

Read Sylvia Browne books (she's a psychic). She says avoid Ouija boards. They are like leaving your front door open to just letting ANYONE walk in...good or EVIL.

Please don't play with those things!

I know you said people who've had real experience but I'm going to share anyway.
Years ago I worked with a girl who used play with a Ouija board with her friends. One night the board spelled out the word abortion and one of her friends names. The girl who was named broke down and began crying and admitted that she had had an abortion but HADN'T TOLD ANYONE ABOUT IT. Was it all subconscious? Maybe, but I don't think so. She said it was scary but they kept going back to it like they were addicted. I can't remember the rest of what she told me but I had no reason to doubt her. She wasn't the kind to just make things up. I've also had other people tell me of strange occurrences while playing with Ouija boards.
I myself won't touch one and won't even allow one in my home. I believe they're evil.

the reason you may get some neg. answers is because done without due care and attention you can open up a line of communication with someone you may not actually like to have around.. this can wreak havoc!
my first experience is from many years ago when i was at school - and there were just three of us with our fingers on the glass as we began and we asked a question we all got an electric shock and withdrew our hands at the same time. needless to say we took this as our warning and did not bother again.!!!

if you are interested in taking part then do so with a medium who has conducted one before - that way you can enjoy the experience without fear and you will get lots more out of it this way :-) good luck x

Yes, do not use one.

A group of us went into a reputed haunted house in Boston, Lincolnshire.

One of the girls had her long hair grabbed and the back of her head hit the floor with a smack that knocked her out.

We were not mucking about, and she was sitting straight but on the floor.

Something had pulled her hair sharply downwards from behind and through the floor.

We were told later by a Church leader, that there was a suicide in the house and this had attracted a demon.

one day, after speaking to a group of high school students about the dangers of dabbling with occultic activities, such as Ouija boards, I asked if they had any questions or comments. In a subdued voice — and without a hint of sarcasm or levity — one boy raised his hand and said, “I had something . . . happen . . . to my friend and me when we used a Ouija board.” The room of teenagers was hushed as he explained what happened. They had used the board “just for fun” and didn’t expect anything to happen. They were wrong.

he boys began asking silly questions, moving the pointer (called a “planchette” which looks like a small laundry iron) over letters on the board to form amusing answers. It wasn’t long, however, before the planchette began moving on its own, relating private facts about each of their lives: facts they’d never told anyone, not even each other. Soon it became apparent that they were in contact with someone or something they could not physically see. Frightened, they decided to stop, but not before asking one more question: “Who are you?”

The planchette, seemingly under its own power, zigged and zagged slowly across the board, moving from one letter to another, spelling out the word “B-E-E-L-Z-E-B-U-L.” Not recognizing this word, the boys wrote it down on a piece of paper and went immediately to another room to show it to the first boy’s older sister. As she stared at the paper, the color drained out of her face. She asked, “What are you doing?” He replied, “My friend and I were playing with a Ouija board.” She implored him, “Put it away and don’t ever use it again.” This girl recognized the name and feared for her brother’s safety. Three of the four gospels relate the story of the scribes who accused Jesus of invoking this archdemon from hell in order to perform His miracles. Many Scripture scholars believe it to be one of the names attributed to Satan himself.

God i used to do the ouji board all time when i was a teenager, me and my friend were addicted to it i think! we thought it was amazing how it knew names and facts and neither of us ever intentionally pushed it, but as we grew up and the more i read/heard about it I realised that we were in fact pushin it but subconsciously, we used to really scare ourselves sometimes! Even though i do think it is mind over matter and a load of nonsense there is still a small part of me that wonders... which is why i'd never touch it again!

my brother did a ouija board with a group of mates when he was about 14. and it started moving. they all thought it was each other moving it, so didnt take wat it was saying very seriously. but the spirit that came to talk spoke only to one boy inparticular. it said to him that it could grant a wish for him, but warned him that he would have to pay for it by some means. he (thinking it was one of his mates) said 'ok i wish for loads of money!'' next weekend, his parents died in a car crash and left him all the money they had. thats the gods honest truth! spooky. since then i always promised myself not to mess with stuff like that. i have a morbid facination about hearing spooky stories tho!
