I'm sure it is working that direction. Here in Texas you used to be able to find them and shoot them almost anywhere, but not anymore.

Because in our form of government states and cities have their own individual laws and ordinances. If you live in a city where fireworks are illegal you're probably risking arrest if you use them no matter where you buy them. You can't penalize people enjoying fireworks where they are legal by banning them all just because they are banned in another jurisdiction.

My city has a fire ban because it is so dry, so fireworks are not allowed. Yet, they still allow the firework stands to be open. It makes absolutely no sense!

when I lived in Florida, there were illegal because there are too many fires. They had to be ones that stayed on the ground (no fun). So we just went to Alabama and bought the good ones...the police didn't care if they were shot off on July 4th...

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck no! with the rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. its part of our freedom its what the forefathers wanted us to do. to make these things illegal would be unconstitutional. wouldn't that just ruin the fun of being illegal? i dont want to blow my face off with a legal stick of 1/4 inch dynamite, make it illegal and i would be like dude i shouldn't have done that...but the officers around my area have been to the parties and they know that they are illegal but we like to see the street lights turn off and hear car alarms go off in the middle of the night its all good

People still buy firecrackers and throw them in the street over here. I don't think the laws are that strict. Plus the companies got to make money and stay in business.
