and the Democratic/African American relationship? Both parties pander to the voting block to get elected and then completely ignore the base that won them the election when they are in office. Any thoughts . . . Thanks in advance.

I don't agree with you show me where the Democrats pander to the African Americans. Black vote their interest the same as whites. Republicans pander more to big business and don/t give a dam about the people who voted for them. Look at all the poor poor whites who vote for them and what do they get nothing a lot of mouth that's never going to happen. When its all over they have not made it up the ladder not one rung. They are still poor and gays are still here and Hispanics are still crossing the border, You still don't have pray in school and people are still having abortions. I don't think they pander they LIE. tHEY NEED YOUR VOTES BUT ALSO BIG BUSINESS MONEY

What's that old saying? "Fake it till you make it"

You say what people want to hear until you get elected and then you follow your own path. Politics has ALWAYS been that way. That's why politicians need elected based on their legislative voting histories and whatnot and not based on campaign promises.

Example: How many people know Hillary Clinton's voting history in the US Senate? How many people have actually taken the time to look it up? No, all the info you have on Hillary Clinton comes from whatever comes out of her mouth on network news and in debates.

Very much so. Unfortunately, pandering is the only way to get people elected. Tell people what they want to hear and put the screws to them once in office.

American politics at it's best.

Right you are!

Because the majority of white conservatives and African Americans are working class they are equally dismissable by their respective political parties.
