I think this question is tricky I would say that it depends on the situation and the person me personally with my bf I find it harder to say I hate you as apposed to I love you but with someone I do not like I find it harder to say I love you then I hate you.

I hate you is much harder to say. because that is a negative and it is very hurtful to people. Now on the other hand saying I love you is a positive action, even if you are not totally sincere, it makes people feel better.

I think the hardest thing to tell someone is that you DON'T love them. Its easy to say I love you if you mean it, and its easy to say I hate you if you really mean it too. But its far harder to tell someone you've been with for a long time that you no longer are in love with them, and its also very hard to tell someone that you don't love them back after they've just confessed their love to you.

I love you. Oh, and to answer your question saying I hate you is harder.

Harder to say 'I love you'. Would be even harder (and painful) to say 'I hate you' to someone you love in a serious way.

My mom, good church lady that she is, preached that hate is THE most vile four letter word in anyone's vocabulary. We've all seen the damage hate can do; so while I might think it from time to time; I try not to say it. My sweetie says that prying the L word out of me was like trying to clear the Sahara of sand, but when I said it it was the best moment in his life (he really is a sweetie bear, hear him purrrr!) I got a little better at saying the words more frequently as life went on.

There is a fine line between love and hate...You have to love (or like) someone to hate them.. I you didn't care about them in some form, you would not even give a hoot and would not even bother to love or hate...They would be nothing worth caring about one way of the other.

I think I love you is harder to say, at least for the first time.
