In winter if you are near the water the climate is milder than other places. It is not colder in Alexandia in winter. It may be windy but not colder. In summer the north western winds bring some freshness to Alexandria, but these winds lose their freshness during the trip to Cairo above the desert.

3 days ago Cairo was experiencing a severe heat wave, recorded tempreatures were between 4 and 5 degrees above average.
But Usually the difference in Temp between Cairo and Alexandria is 2 to 3 degrees, Alexandria's weather being milder of course due to it's Mediterranean location.

Simply Alexandria is on the mediterranean, to the north, and is affected by northern wind like these in Europe but these winds go weaker as they pass the mediterranean to Alexandria that's why it's yet warmer than Europe.

cause Alex. is on the sea,so the weather is better than anywhere else, especially on the mediterian,on the red sea it's awful.anyway the weather won't last like this forever, they say it'll be awfully hot for 15 days or something.
