I wasn't able to take my temp right when i got up, so i took it about an hour later. I know that i cant rely on it, but i tend to notice that after an hour or so my temp will go down after i take it first thing in the morning (i take my temp a lot) and wanted to know if i could assume that my temp would have been higher if i had taken it when i first woke up. Does anyone else notice that their temp drops a bit just after they get up? Thanks for any input :)

Are you doing the basal body temperature? Yes, it goes down (or up, if you're sick) when you get up, so I would just ignore today's attempt and pick it up again tomorrow.
And by the way, those charts can be tons of fun to look at while you're sitting around in the last few weeks of pregnancy. I still have my chart in his baby book and my son is now a grown man.

If you are trying to conceive, no, you cannot extrapolate from an hour after you have gotten up. You need to take the temperature immediately upon waking or it is not accurate.
