is there a connector i can get to make a SATA fit a computer with IDE fittings, if so where and how much?

you'll need to shop around for an ide to sata adapter

all u need to do is check to see if their is sata hard drive connectors in ur motherboard and if not, well, u need a new motherboard whitch can mean almost a whole new computer. the parts will cost about 400-500$ u might need new ram, new processor, processor fan, and maybe power supply depending on ut current motherboard power connector ( can be 20 or 24 pin connectors)

If your motherboard does not have SATA connections on it, you will need a SATA expansion card:

of course - if you havent SATA slots on MB you need to buy PCI extenension for SATA - most of that have RAID 1,0,5 and cost is near 20-30 USD - I think
