To see it with any detail, you'd want on the order of 1000X, giving an apparent diameter of 5 mm at the usually assumed image-plane distance of 25 cm.

Actually you would do it with much less... 50x would definitely be sufficient.

The average dust partcle is 40-60 microns and you can see that with the naked eye.
