Since he is a Democratic Secular Socialist I doubt it will even be an issue in the MSM or the dem supporters.

I do not think any persons religion should be an issue in voting for them. A good example is Romney, he is a pretty good person, I have known a lot of LDS and they are pretty conservative, believe strongly in personal responsibility, but Romney is going to get shredded by the socialists and the media because of it. That is wrong.

Their should be a separation of religion and politics.

Secularists want their cake and want to eat it too.

No, because he isn't a Unitarian, Obama belongs to the United Church of Christ not the Unitarian Universalist Society, were are you getting this? Link?

The Unitarian Church was founded on the denial of the concept of the Trinity which does make it similar to Arianism. However, the Unitarian Church today isn't the same as it was when it was founded -- it is a liberal religion that basically leaves it up to the individual to decide what they believe or don't believe -- and they embrace all Religions not just Christianity. As I said previously many Unitarians are not Christians.

The following Presidents were Unitarians - John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Millard Fillmore, William Howard Taft.

My own belief is that it will have little effect. Among the Democratic core there appears to be a growing sense of Christianity being the problem. It may turn off some older voters. They are strong voters but a small core of them have been voting Democratic. Among younger voters, if this forum is an example, it may help him.

We have hopefully come a long way since the question being asked isn't about his skin color. Thank God for that.

I think it could be depending on how close a race is in the primary or general that he might be in. But if his minister or others in his church call for separatism of blacks and whites I think that will lose votes for Obama. I think the society that most feel would be best is what MLK did where the color means nothing just the character of the person.

As any one running for public office he should keep his mouth shut about his religious life. No do not deny but just do not talk about it. Religion and politics do not mix. Nations where they do try to mix are in real trouble most of the time.

England is the one that has no problem with this but then very few there even care about religion. That is the way it should be.

ARIAN NOT ARYAN TO THOSE ABOVE WHO DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

I don't see why. Modern day Unitarians are very tolerant of all christian and jewish religions and advocate peace.

No not a problem, his connection with the Demarcate party and the strong connection to his ideas and beliefs are what really hurt him.

PS. I really though can't wait for the day when a minority president takes office, but its not this election and you are looking at the wrong party.

Obama's far left politics and weakness on defense are the problem for him.

No, Obama's religion will not be a problem for him because most people do not know anything about his religion.
