Im off to Riga next month for a long weekend,i need some info on bars,prices etc.
please help

I am from Latvia and i have lived in NYC for a while.
The best nightlife, all bars and clubs are located in the old town, but there are some more clubs in Riga like LaRocca on Brivibas st. Definitely go to Lido on Krasta st to eat at least once - they have huge variety of foods - national and international, the place is beautiful and has some attractions as well.

prices - depends on what you do, where you stay and what you want to see. e.g. nightclub admission usually is about $10 and drinks on average are $5 or less - shots are a little over a buck.

This was a while back, but the President of the country was under indictment.
The government does not turn on the heat until it has been below freezing for at least 3 days. There are a lot of criminals. The Soviet Union left all kinds of toxic waste behind in from its military bases that it never cleaned up. Enjoy your trip, but be smart - be careful.
