I totally agree! (whatever you read was probably a fan-fiction and not the real book, btw)
JK Rowling has stated for sure that someone will discover they have magic powers later than normal, which is VERY rare in the wizard world. I think that when Petunia agreed to take in Harry, she told Dumbledore she would do it only if Dumbledore agreed to never let Dudley into Hogwarts, if Dudley was magical.
I think Dudley did a bit of magic when he was little, which is why Petunia and Vernon are always catering to his every want... they kept him "happy" throughout his childhood, to squash out any magic he might have done.
I also think that if Dudley WAS magical, he wouldn't ever tell his parents... how could he, especially after how he knows his parents hate it?

I believe that Rowling has says that its NOT dudley who develops magical powers late in life.
Also Dudley did not SEE the demontors just felt thier effects he thought Harry had done magic to make hime feel that way he did not tell his parents he saw anything Harry told them about the Dementors. And as we saw with Mrs Figg non magical folks can still feel the effects of dementors they just cant see them.
I think i have read the fan fiction you are talking about and while i think its a fun idea...dudley becoming what he has always feared, i dont think it will happen.

Uhm, not really. If he did have magical powers he would have found out aLOT sooner.
BUT, Aunt Pentunia...there's something more o her than what meets the eye. Remember in Order of The Phoenix when Harry saves Dudley from the dementors? Well when Harry went back to explain Pentunia already knew everything there is about Dementors and Azkaban...why? I guess we'll find on July 21. :)

Sounds like a good fan fiction nothing more JKR has ruled out both Dudley and Aunt Petunia as the person that does magic later in life

What new book you read?
JKR hasn't released HP7 yet. And if Dudley in HP has magical abiblities then she would have brought that in earlier in the storyline. She said that this is the last HP book except for a possible charity encyclopedia with all of the info she didn't/couldn't put in the books.

It could be him. JKR said that someone will develope their magic later in life.
Could be Dudley, but I have my cash (not really) on Filch being able to cast a spell in desperation or Petunia finding out that Lilly was not the only witch in her family.

J.K. Rowling has said, "Dudley is nothing more than he seems."
So, in other words, No.
Dudley is definitely not going to have magical powers in book seven.

JK Rowling has said this about Dudley: "Dudley is nothing more than he seems."
Judging by that, no, Dudley does not have any magical powers.

Dudley?? Are you nuts??!!
What book did you read that said he had magic powers?
Nothing in anything I have read speculates that Dudley has anything but a nasty attitude.

i read ur so called book (skimmed actually) but still here are reasons that this is fake.
1.2 main charaters are suppose to die
2.the last word is "scar" not "death". j.k would've told us, and since their already printing the books, not a chance.
3.in the begining there was way too much romance!
sorry my friend but taht was a fake!
