a democratic President next election than any democrat could have ever hope to do. His fear campaign is basically over, it no longer works. So why do so many republicans still insist on such baseless, outrageous statements and still try using fear to garner votes? Tax and spend...well just who is going to pay for this Iraq fiasco? Cut and run, that was Reagan in Beirut not democrats. They're going to take our guns, it's never happened and never will and let's not forget gays and abortion destroying America. Has the hate and fear message finally gotten to the end of its road?

Good god people where do you see me supporting democrats in my question? I think they are worthless too, both parties are. I just think the republicans are more destructive to America than democrats. I'm for term limits and a smaller, less intrusive, fiscally responsible government. That's why I'm an independent and only support people with that same vision.

Sadly, looking at the answers on here....it is clear that the 20-some percent that still support Bush and his crime cartel all post here on Q&A.
Bush has driven the GOP into the dirt. It will take years and years for the US to recover - if it ever does.
Bush has done more to ensure a Democratic win for the White House than any Democrat out there. He has killed the respect of the people for the GOP and their fiscal conservativeness - which he made a mockery of and the GOP let him.
People of America are tired of hate and fear. I can remember when America was about hopes and dreams - many other people do too. We are ready to go back to that America. I am, aren't you?

It's amazing how people jump to conclusions, isn't it.
I have the same fear as you. Bush may have set the country up for another Jimmy Carter. Today's mood is very similar to the mood of the country during the Nixon era.
Nixon fed up so many people, just as Bush has. Carter, one of the most ineffective presidents, was elected by a nation that wanted to heal itself.

What if the Republican party was hijacked? And then a guy named Ron ran for it as one of the originals? What if the party "loyal" (the ones that listen to talk radio, and parrot stuff the msm says) called him a loon? A nut? Called his supporters the same?

What would you think? Could you wait for your health care? your socialized school system? Your care for the rest of the world over your own country? Why not let him try to fix some of the damage we have done?

We gotta pay some of these bills off, Healthcare/School/Socialism and of course, War, and outsourcing and "free trade" costs a lot. We can't afford it. You want to leave your kids a bankrupt country? At least give the person saying the right things a chance before listening to Savage, or Levine, or whomever else plays a pundit on the radio. Vote with your heart. Vote for Ron Paul. If you don't want to vote for him, listen to his message. Hold your candidate to some of his most important ideals.

Don't vote for another actor, you can't tell if he's lying (yea yeah, his lips are moving and he's a politician to boot). Don't vote for a socialist, don't vote for someone who will spend every penny YOU make. And if you still do, don't let them do things to further themselves, and hurt us, the people. Please.

-Actually Hillary and Obama have said they plan on increasing taxes while Pres. Busch lowered them.
-Hillary, Obama and the Dem's want a health care system like the rest of Europe that has a history of failure.
-Republicans will never take our guns. Dem's want more gun laws instead of enforcing the ones we have. Easier to say "we passed laws" than say " we are enforcing laws on the books".
-Gays want special treatment. You can't force people to not be bigoted. And to force people to make concessions for a group for ANY reason is wrong. If someone or some business wants to be bigoted let them. Just spread the word about it and let the market sort it out. If enough people don't go there, the business will fail. Hit them in the wallet!
So I guess the question is, what hate and fear message?
I think the Democrat controlled congress is doing a fairly good job of making sure that a Republican gets elected. Their 14% approval rating shows that Democrats in control are just as "bad" as Republicans.

An INDEPENDENT for the next President might do a little more for defeating the "status quo"

If Hillary gets the nomination, then you will have to think about more politics as usual, the same politics that have been in the White House for the past 20 years. 12 years of Bush, 8 years of Clinton. It's like the royal families are trading power. What's next, another Kennedy?

Fire them all!

"baseless, outrageous statements and still try using fear to garner votes?"? Ever hear of someone named Hillary Clinton? Oh, and I forgot, you call them baseless statements because YOU know more than the entire American Government top cabinet officials do, sorry.

And the Republican party is actually putting together a pretty damn good team for next year. So, as I say many times on here, do some damn research before you post thoughtless questions.

Bush had a low approval rating in 04 too, but thankfully the Democratic party is inept and seems to pick the biggest loser as candidate to ensure Republican victory.

What evidence do you have that the 'republican reign' is ending? The democrats barely won the majority in congress in the last election, hardly a mandate for change.

Do not forget the Democrats have taken to preaching great fear of global warming.

It will be interesting to see what the overarching GOP message will be for the campaign. If they resort to fear, they'll be linked to Bush. If they use religious values, they'll be linked to Bush. Bush kind of followed Sherman's civil war scorched earth tactic. He's made a bad bed for the GOP to sleep in for the next eight years or so.

For the time being, yes...when any administration has handles foreign policy in such a clumsy, ackward and aggressive manner, it's glaring to a greater majority of people. In time they will forget though. These things repeat themselves.
