While it wasnt my favorite of his books i didnt think it was that bad... god summer book read while on the beach...not to much thinking involved. i liked the big twist at the end it was disturbing.

I dont know why he co-authors i would think that its because its fun to collaborate, perhaps it takes him in directions he may not otherwise have found and challenges him in some way. Or perhaps he doesnt want to have to do ALL the work all the time. i would hope its the former but you never know. :)

I have friends that actually live on beach road and they were not terribly happy about the book. i have read it and think it is not one of his best. Contrary to the previous answer there is a lot of reality as far as the locations and some of the social descriptions. Its weird when someone writes about your back yard, So to speak. Kind of makes you look at things through different eyes.

I read it and wasn't impressed with the premise. It's not one of his better novels but the way he churns them out maybe he's getting diluted a bit.
Maybe the reason he's co-authoring is because he's running out of ideas for his non-Cross, non-Woman's Club books.

i started it, but couldn't get into it... his other books are somewhat rooted in reality, but the whole 'poor lawyer trying to defend rich b-baller" just didn't play for me... maybe i'll dig it out again later and give it another run.

kind of disappointing.

as for the co-authoring, who knows... running out of ideas for alex cross?

**EDIT**

"traveler"... i REALIZE that the setting is real. also, i'm sure patterson's "social descriptions" are to a "T"... i must not have been clear enough for you. i'll try again. the plot is weak and hackneyed.
