Doubtful. Terrorists like to hit symbolic places. And, as much as I love my great Republic of Texas, we just don't have any symbolic places that people throughout the world acknowledge as being symbolic.

No, the greatest risk of terrorist attack comes in two places... first, well known public landmarks... ie, the Statue of Liberty, the White House, The Capital Building, the Sears Tower etc.... terrorists choose these targets because their distruction make a huge impact on the psyche on the American public... think of how much more impact the 9/11 attacks had than the Oklahoma City bombing (true, more people died, and there were 4 seperate attacks on 9/11 than in Oklahoma City, and 9/11 was a foreign attack by a large terrorist organization.... but the main reason the 9/11 attacks were so devistating is because they hit very well known symbols of the United States, this was very distrubing)... and asside from a few landmarks, like the Alamo, there are sorry to say very few nationally known landmarks in Texas. The second reason terrorists pick a location for attacks is because it is an easy target. This is why terrorists go after things like train and bus stations, airplanes, and malls... these places are crowded, and relatively unguarded. In this case there is a risk to Texas, as Texas has many large cities, with many large gathering places such as those I've just mentioned... however an attack like this is just as likely in any other part of the country... but in this case there is still a slightly increased chance of a terrorist attack in New York, or Washington DC because these are two of the most densly packed, as well as the two most well known cities in the USA, at least to foreign terrorists. The terrorists know a bomb going off in a mall in New York will have a greater impact than a bomb going off in Detroit, or Dallas, or Denver, or Des Moines.

Everyone always worries about the Houston Shipping Channel and Texas City.
The Channel is narrow and is a *major* port, moving billions of dollars of goods each year.
Texas City is a small group of houses scattered around oil refining plant after oil refining plant.
Either target is prime for attack....which is why the Feds keep a close eye on them.
I would say that I feel sorry for any terrorist trying to attack Texas....but I would be lying--I wouldn't feel sorry for them.
edit: I didn't realize there were so many fellow Texans here....

Texas is like no other place. If the terrorists showed their faces (not a sneak attack) even the kids here could take them. most of the rural kids make potato guns for fun (if you don't know what that is then look it up) it's not a place to play around. It's nothing to see farmer Joe packing a shoulder holster at the local grocery store, it's not even uncommon to see this in a larger city. you can check any decent sized parking lot at any time and find gun racks in pick ups. We aren't necessarily tougher...but you don't hear other countries warning tourists about the number of guns in Ohio if you know what I mean.

Texas is large and indestructible. Everything in Texas is big. We eat horseshoes and spit out nails. If terrorists showed up here they would be faced down with every sort of firearm imaginable. Not only that, not far from where I am is a napalm stockpile. Eat that Al Qaeda.
Long live the Republic!

It would be much more difficult for a terrorist to attack Texas, we have much better 2nd Amendment rights which make even criminals think twice. Nothing against the other planes but when the flight went down over Pennsylvania I think the terrorists realized the American people still have a little cowboy in them, this is especially true in Texas.

Doubt it. Attacks were planned well before W. ever came into office (WTC I, WTC II, etc.). It's a popular misconception that it's because of W. that we are at risk.
