Saddam was not concerned about Islam, he was far from religious. He was all about power, Aziz helped him stay there. There was no conviction in Saddam about Islam whatsoever.

Who hates who? I think the person calling me a cow is probably the one who is demonstrating the most hatred today. You are showing yourself to be an ***.
Tariq Aziz did have Christian affiliations, and Christians did have a better life under the secularist Hussein regime than they do now under the "Muslim Democracy" that we created. So, yes, perhaps toppling Saddam wasn't a wise choice if our only goal was to protect Iraqi Christians. And, I'll say that I did oppose the Iraq invasion. But Baathism is not something I would defend, and Saddam used Aziz's Christian association to his advantage. I have no great respect for either of them, because they presided over mass murders.
How can you defend them. Regardless of whether the American presence is good or not, how can you defend Saddam and Aziz? And why are you making this a Jewish issue? Can you not even think beyond that narrow issue?

If you were up to no good and wanted to hide that fact, who would you send to the United States to serve as your envoy??
The fact that Aziz was a christian was a ploy.

Saddam wasn't muslim untill after the first gulf-war. In fact, he was extremely angry with the muslims and did everything he could to limit their power. That's why we supported him agaisnst Iran. (Of course we also sold guns to the Iranians to continue the war so that the two nations would bleed eachother, but...)
He didn't care about your religeon as long as you were loyal, and carried out his orders.
