No, he was conservative all the way. The whole conservative philosophy has always been to return to how things were in the 1890's. Unfortunately the world has moved on. 19th century economics doesn't work any better than 19th century colonialism. Conservatism is a bogus philosophy. The fact that it led to a series of depressions culminating in the Great Depression of 1929 combined with the fact that New Deal Keynesian Liberalism worked just fine for almost 70 years demonstrates clearly that conservatism is and always has been a fantasy. It is a very expensive fantasy to indulge. If America doesn't return to scientifically based Liberalism it is doomed to continuing deterioration and collapse. Its your choice folks, indulge conservative fantasy and get poor or operate realistically with Liberalism and become part of the real world again.

Bush came to be President from the voting block of christian fundametalist that flock to Republicans at election time. Nader cost the election for Gore in 2000. Bush a liberal, what a joke, he just is not a great leader for a great country.
