If anything, the oceans would be slightly less deep without the sponges because that would be removing a small amount of mass which is currently displacing a small amount of water..

Oh, btw.. the answer is, it doesnt make any difference, not enough "sponges" to make a significant difference in water dept, even if you removed them all.
