I do not live near my friend, so when I/we stay with them (or them with us) we always go everywhere together and the little girls parents are always around to keep her in check. I think she has come to see me more as someone to play with than someone who can tell her what to do, and I think she will try to play me up if she gets bored. Please give me lots of tips to keep her occupied, and tips on making sure she listens to me if I need to tell her to do something. She has a strong personality, and I'm not sure she will be happy about being told what to do by me after all these years! I want her to have fun, but I also need tips on changing the dynamic between us without confrontation.

In order to keep her in order- you need to approach it as a friend- you say things like- how about we tidy up your things now, or lets get this bathtime sorted out then- don't boss her or order- ask her nicely, suggest and take the lead- she will follow then. As for keeping her busy, find places of interest locally, museums, libraries, see what is going on in the area locally for kids in the summer. When at home she must have toys she will bring with her, play board games and i-spy etc., get her to read books with you, play cards and find artistic things to that keeps her busy- painting, drawing, gluing etc. Google kids activities- see what comes up.

Try relaxing a little, u must be a very god person to be worried.
I do lots of baking, making sweets etc with my little girl,go to the park, bike rides, swimming, walk in the woods see who can find the most different species of thing etc. It can go on, just be yourself and stop panicking, but also make sure u r in charge and she is not. We can be quite easily lead LOL.

Kids love all kinds of games, tell her to bring stuff from her house that she likes to do. Theres always different things like Board Games, Card Games and so on. If that does not work try taking her to the park or for a walk or something like that.
