Sigh.
Yet another person confusing sexual ORIENTATION with sexual BEHAVIOR.
Men have sex with other men in prison. This is BEHAVIOR. It doesn't change their orientation one bit.
Whatever BEHAVIOR happens on this island does not have anything to do with ORIENTATION, and is therefore a moot question.

I think that after being marooned for quite some time, I would. Looks wouldn't matter or their sex. It would probably be something that would fight off the loneliness and despair of our plight.
Everyone needs to be held once in a while...
I am single, so I'm looking at this in that light. If I were in a relationship, then I could stave off sex, but still, I might need to hold someone through the night when the despair got too great.

I'm a gay woman and there is no way I would have sex with a man, deserted and without sex or not.
I wouldn't think of it, but it isn't disgusting. Labelling things as disgusting in relation to sexuality is what causes homophobia.
Sexuality is not something to be classified as wrong, no matter which sexuality you are.
However, I would only sleep with a woman. I am not and will never be attracted to a man, therefore I would not sleep with one

I think you meant to ask if you were gay and marooned with someone of the opposite sex, would you sleep with them.
Well, a very good male friend of mine is gay, he has told me in the past that a hand is a hand regardless of whether the owner of that hand classes themselves as gay or straight!! He said he has had relations with a straight guy in the past - in a 'handy' way..... too much info for me at the time, but probably helps you in your quest for an answer to this question!!!!

I hate these hypothetical scenarios. Who knows what I'd do in such a strange and extreme situation?
I don't think sleeping with the opposite sex is unthinkable or disgusting. Why should it be? Straight people cringing with disgust at gay sex is equally as melodramatic as gay people cringing at straight sex. We go for the sort that makes us happy, and the sort that doesn't isn't automatically gross.

There is the issue of "situational homosexuality" this is often observed in prisons, now if we where to assume that this is caused by the need for intimate companionship and not some other factors such as proving dominance, then it would be easy to accept that there would be "Situational Heterosexuality." So as time wore on you'd see your companion on this island less and less by there gender and instead as an individual you've become emotionally close to and depend on.
Of course this is all assumptive on the fact that you genuinely like this person and come to enjoy your time together.

Let me tell you a little story. I have a best friend. Her name is Faith, she's the same age as I am and she's gorgeous. She's truly the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. About three weeks ago, we were having a conversation about, well, my sexuality and what it means. One of the questions that popped up was "Would you ever sleep with a woman?"
Wanna know my exact reply? "Baby, there's absolutely no way I'm ever going inside this... place." (place=vagina)
So, to answer your question, no, I wouldn't. I find sleeping with a woman or kissing her as disgusting as straight people find what I do with men. I don't get disgusted watching it of course (re sex: in movies, duh...), but I would never EVER do it.

Dan Savage, author of the "Savage Love" advice columns says that 1. he's actually done it, more than once, in the past, and 2. he's at least as gay as anyone he knows.
Also, consider the Kinsey scale (few humans are at the extreme ends), married or female-attached guys who do females AND other guys on the "down low," and Kith D's idea of situational heterosexuality.

If it is someone of the same sex I wouldn't have a problem with it. If it is someone of the opposite sex, um, no I will never be that desperate. I'd probably bore a hole in a coconut shell to relieve that situation.

if your gay then it would be a member of the same sex you would sleep with. That is a fundimental part of being gay.
Regarding the island bit, it depends on the attraction thats there. i don't necessarily as a straight woman want to sleep with every guy I meet, so if I was gay I wouldn't be attracted to every lesbian I met either. This is a bit of an odd question.

You ask this like sex (with anyone) is a necessity to living. I think you would be better off looking for food/shelter/rescue than sexual gratification. Besides, sex burns calories and you will need that to get off the island.
Sex is a conscious choice unless you are an animal.
