If you're working in Word, the default font is usually Times New Roman 10. If you want to change it for all time, up to Format on menu bar, down to Font, and change the 10 to 12.
If its just for some documents, or you want to vary size within the document, highlight relevant words then click on the downward arrow to the side of the font size box on the toolbar, and choose the size you want. Sorry, on re-reading your question, I think you mean the zoom ratio. Perhaps you are in only 75%. firstly, close the righthand pane if you're not using that, then up to zoom ratio box to the right side of our tool bar area, click on the downward arrow to reveal sizes. This changes how you see it, not the actual font size. 100% is usually the norm, but if you do page width it should take it to 90% which makes it look more like the printed page with the area around the page itself - make sure also you are in print layout, rather than normal.
If the resolution of your computer means that the ratio is still very small, you can have it whatever zoom you like, just type over, say 125 if you want it that big, but remember to hit the enter key to complete the command.

In things like Word you can view the document at >100% of its normal size.
On your desktop you can increase the size of the text displayed (Right click on desktop, Properties, Appearance then select the area you want to increase the font size for)
On your Start Menu - Right click the toolbar, Properties, Start Menu, Customise & select Large Icons.
Hope this helps (& is worth a best answer??!)

You can change the font size... it changes on screen and on paper.
Or you can change the zoom of the image - depends on the application where it is, but look for 'view' or 'zoom'. That changes the scaling of the document on screen.
