I'm afraid so; I hate to wear shoes and can even walk barefoot on streets that have been chip sealed.

Yes, I like walking on gravel, even the crushed-rock kind. It's more interesting than grass or sand, gives a good feeling to notice how tough my feet are to walk or even run without trouble.

I can still walk on rougher and sharper gravel, rocky street or even rockier sidewalk, but I would rather not walk on that surface. I still have to walk more slowly because the sharper rocks still hurt with every step when they poke into the soles. Larger hard rocks also hurt, such as the larger rounded rocks in beach areas, but they are much more walkable as long as they are not slipping.

Not anymore--I'm too much of a couch potato now, but as a kid, I lived in the woods with a gravel driveway and gravel road. My feet were tough as leather, so I didn't need shoes, let alone wear them.

It also depends on what kind of rock, smooth stones are easier than jagged edges.
