To connect two monitors to a single PC, you have to have two monitor connectors on the PC. This can be done by adding a second video card, or by replacing the current video card with one which has two (or more) connectors on it.
If you want to display the exact same picture on both displays, you can also purchase a video splitter. It attachs to your one video output, and then has two connectors. However this will not allow you to display different pictures on each monitor or to split the desktop (which is would most people want to do).

You need either,
1. 2 Video Cards
2. A video card with 2 video ports
3. One video card + one onboard video port.
Then you hook it all up and right click on your desktop and select the second monitor, then you check the box to extend your desktop to this monitor, drag the blue squares into the actual configuration of your monitors, and off you go.

assuming you want to hook up the 2 monitors for 2 different screens, just install a 2nd video card or replace your current video card with a dual screen video card and hook up your monitors. if you want the same video on both monitors just get a dual, quad, or eight to one video splitter box. Ive done it both ways with some help from the guys at www.ComputerBrokerage.com

I have never come across anyone wanting two monitors and one tower. However if you wanted two towers and one monitor, you would invest in a KVM switch.

Either get a PCI video card or get a new AGP or PCI Express Vid card with dual dvi inputs ( and they come with adapters to fit the other style connector)
KVM switch isnt what you want. Thats for using one monitor keyboard and mouse with 2 computers.

buy a dual headed graphics card. Most of them nowadays come with two outputs. You don't need to buy the latest and greatest video card in order to have that functionality. Any card will work, as long as it has two outputs

Dual head video card or two single head video cards. Plus their drivers.
Or if you just want the same stuff on both screens a splitter box.
