when speaking, writing, and typing?
I generally do but every now and then (especially when typing) i'll slip up or abbreviate here and there. Why does this make some people so upset? I think its pretty obnoxious to correct someones grammer in a condescending way, dont you?

phatshady--i think LOL is insanely overused on the internet, but i guess people are so used to it that it's considered okay.
although, funny thing. i never actually "laughed out loud" when i typed LOL to someone ;)

It is really obnoxious to correct someones grammar, gets on my last nerve. Unless they are trying to prove a point about grammar like "ha ha you have bad grammar you can't even make proper sentances" I'll let them know their mistake. I slip up sometimes too, no ones perfect. But I generally use proper grammar, just because it gets my point across better, makes the argument(or whatever it is) seem more thought out.

I will never mind the people. Cos i like to speak, write, and type in proper grammar with the occasional abbreviated words. I love English. :)

Grammar.
And most of the time, yes. Even online too, but then again, I would see what kind of person I'm chatting with. If I know that she/he is the type who uses the Internet slang/lingo, I'll play along :)

i do. (not always here though)
i never correct people. you don't know how old they are or if they're from a different country and haven't mastered english.
i think it's rude to correct someones grammar. what difference could it possibly make to the person correcting?
i wonder if these yahoo bullies were also bullies in school.

I think it is very important to use proper grammar as it is a reflection on your education. No one is perfect and we may make an error here or there which is acceptable (in my book). However, there are lots of users and people in general who have no respect for grammar and are very sloppy in their writing and even speech.

Sometimes the only abv. i use are brb, nvm(sometimes) and irl, and the laughing ones, like lol, lmao, rofl, etc. Sometimes ill just be like "Sup? aint you gonna go to the movies tomorow? heard they got some good movies out. 'specially epic movie, ill have to see that sometime." but thats just because im southern, and its how i speak irl, so.. lol whatever.
Yeah, people shouldnt correct them. its their choice on how they want to type. even if they are dead annoying, like, "OmGzErZ!!oneoneshift111!shift!! diD u SeE dAt gUy? hE wUz sO cHeCkiN mE oUt!!lOl!!!"
xD then id probably stop talking to them.
:)
but i wouldnt correct them.
