Hi there!
The word super-hero seems very amateurish!
*...Hero...*
>> Somebody who sacrifices, takes a risk, for the well being and happiness of another..A selfless act! Then doesn't ask for any reward or favor in return!
Regards

Hmmmm
I think the term amalgamates two things, which are : 'Super', which indicates that the 'Hero' has powers beyond that of the average human even though they are on the face of it 'normal' Clark Kent, Peter Parker, Dr Banna etc and the word hero is self explanatory in that the individual commits selfless act of bravery and heroism via use of their extra-ordinary powers. I have issues with so called 'superheroes', but i'll try to stay positive. be well and take care ...........

A hero is someone who goes beyond the call of duty. A super hero is a comic character who wears his/her underwear over his/her pants. A super hero is usually the protagonist of a cliche storyline where he has to foil an evil villain's evil plan.

Although heroes today are depicted as ordinary people bestowed upon great power and responsibility, the world considers true heroes those who will do anything to save those he/she loves. One who would step up in times of real need and liberate those suffering unfairly. They help although there is no call to. Even their own lives they would give for the sake of many others. That, for me, is the best superhero any person can have in their lives. :)

Modern concept of supper hero is in fact derivative of ancient legends, folklores and myths aggrandised, elevated and idealised in human mind through constant mention through out human history. The modern supper heroes, unlike like ancient Olympian gods, and deities of the ancient world are in the making hands of ordinary human being that you and me know, but they are still the measures we idealistically take for our collective human capacities, representations of our collective alter ego.
There have been attempts to rid mankind of all over arching idealised notions of super heroism in favour of all human realistic culture of thoughts, like Homer’s Odyssey, but it has worked so far as our knowledge and normality can reach. And each time we have found our selves in the hands of ultra-human forces of destruction superhuman consciousness has appeared upon the scene enabling us to see human good as supper good, and all things bad supper bad, which then fight for the gratification of our viewing pleasures.

A superhero is someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty. Anyone that helps someone else when they don't really have to or anyone that makes a difference in another persons life.
