She can ask for more child support at any time. Of course it will be in a TN court too. The laws in TN have changed over the past few years though. The courts look at the father's and the mother's income. They also look at their potential. Example - mother has a degree in astrophysics and works at Shoneys. She is not making as much as should could and they will factor that in.
When I got divorced, the father paid a flat percentage (21% for 1 child). If/when we go back my obligation will be much less than I currently pay.
PS I pay more than I am required to.

Well if child support has already being order and he is paying I don't see how can his ex ask for more money? unless you make more money than he does and the ex can try, but I don't think the judge would change the amount being that marriage is an expense that has to be taken in consideration. You better ask a lawyer they have a book on that. good luck.

It depends on where he was divorced. Each state has different laws. Go to www.myparentingportal.com, there is a link to all the child support laws regarding every state on there. In Maryland, child support can be looked at by the courts every 3 years and adjusted, and it is adjusted according to his income and her income. If he makes more, he pays more. If she makes more, he pays less. I would do some research on it.

The child support has nothing to do with your income. You aren't the absent parent. She can ask for more child support at any time. Child support is like any other income. It should be adjusted at times because of the cost of living.

yes they have every right to ask more child support, but just because they ask doesn't mean the answer is a YES. Without a court order it is pretty much useless. or does she have some really bad circumstances that are making her ask for more. natural diasters, health problems and so on.

Your income is not considered as part of his in a child support case. However if the two of you have a child It would be reason enough for him to go back to court and have his support reduced because his responsibilities have increased.

in most states, your income can be taken into consideration after marriage. not sure about your 2 states, probably so. if he were to get behind on support, your wages can be garnished

She can ask for increases if she feels she needs them. Your marrying has nothing to do with it. This is between them and about their children.
