Its not only secluded from the rest of the resort, it backs out onto a parking lot, easy access to the main road. Unbelieveble that 3 toddlers wete left in that GROUND FLOOR BEDROOM thats circled in the photo.!!

grannygrunt, where did I say it was justification? You failed to answer the question. Im asking if YOU would leave a child there? Please dont twist what Ive written here, Im sick of abuse on here and it was a genuine question, as Im shocked by this photo. How can it be compared to someone "blinking" and having a child abducted?
Are you going to answer the question, honestly? If not, please dont reply.

madgal, yes, the bottom window was the one Madeleine was in, and was open. I do see what your saying about the distance, but what it doesnt show on there is that there was no line of sight. It may be 50 yards as the crow flies, but in reality, having to walk around walls, trees, other buildings, swimming pool etc, it more than doubles that distance.
The closeness of the Tapas bar isnt really ygnificant once you actually SEE where the Apartment was situated.

Ceasars wife, thankyou for answering the question.
As for the rest of your post, I dont understand how leaving 3 kids in THAT particular apartment, yet alone a more secure one, can be called a Misjudgement? To misjudge something is to trip up a kirb, or try to reverse a car into a space that is too small, or try to time a recipe and then burn the cake because you left it in too long. I dont find the fact that, looking at that photograph, the Parents "misjudged" or made an error of judgement at all! They could plainly see the layout of the resort, they could see that the room the children were in was practically on a road at the back of the resort, they could see plainly how open and secluded it was, we arnt talking about 2 thick people who could barely spell their own names and could be related to Vicky Pollard, these are professional people, obviously intelligent and able to make sound judgements, by virtue of the careers they are in.

As for the "car" anology, I agree that if Id chosen to put my child in a car WITHOUT a seatbelt, or my baby on the front seat WITHOUT a baby seat, I would be taking a risk, a gamble. And that would be negligent wouldnt it?
But if I,d taken my kids safety seriously, made sure they were secure, didnt take risks with their safety and did all I could to protect them from the "unexpected", and something happened, god forbid, then at least Id done all I could. Madeleins parents did NOT do ALL THEY COULD to ensure their kids were safe. Of course they didnt expect an abduction (apparently), but there were other dangers there, a deep swimming pool, a busy road for example.

No, i've got under no circumstances left my infants on my own, yet I even have been in a situation, whilst on holiday once I took my eyes off one in all them for a couple of minutes. i'm no longer ging into the area, even if it could have had a foul ending, fortunately it did no longer - yet i will think of the headlines now if it were a distinctive result. No, i've got under no circumstances became a blind eye, definite, i've got probably had that extra effective drink, no i've got under no circumstances pretended to no longer hear them cry. No, I even have under no circumstances ignored my infants, they are my international. No, i do no longer think of they could have left the youngsters, yet I additionally do no longer think of they could be locked away - harmless till shown to blame. whilst i think that they've not harmed their daughter, needless to say i won't be able of be a hundred% specific, I wasn't there, and no person else at here became into the two. Does it no longer flow your strategies you will be making those comments and accusations approximately 2 parents who've had their daughter kidnapped, and don't be conscious of the place she is? They made an exceedingly vast mistake, they concept their infants may well be secure, they weren't. Is that no longer punishment adequate?

No, probably not for reasons that I won't bore myself by repeating but which anyone who cares enough can find out about by checking my previous answers via my profile (as I haven't blocked anyone).
Nevertheless, this does not justify what has been going on here.
They have been accused variously of being unemotional, of having colluded with the abductor (who might have been part of a sinister Freemason network), of concealing the fact that some accident befell Madeleine, of not caring about Madeleine or for their other 2 children, of being motivated only by accumulating as much money as possible for themselves. There is more but those, I think are the main charges.
Every single thing that they say or do, however innocuous, is picked over and taken as "evidence" that supports one or other of the above allegations.
We even have people posting questions asking whether Gerry McCann or Tim Henman is more boring. I mean, taken as a whole, does this sound like rational, reasonable argument?

I've seen maps of the resort before, but not an actual photo - wow, this really changes my mind - I thought it seemed much closer than it is. You can't even see their window from where they were sitting - and it was night-time too! When they talked about a "secure resort", I assumed it was a gated community, where you needed to have a swipe card to enter or exit, etc. Anybody could have easily wandered in and left very easily without being noticed (and did, obviously). No, I would never have done this. Forget about being kidnapped, I would have been worried about my children waking up and wondering where the heck I was and getting frightened.

Hi ya. I am going to be very honest... and probably get a verbal hiding. The apartment actually looks nearer than I had first depicted. From the Tapas bar through the resort looks very short... 50 yards maybe. So if I was in a secure resort, 50 yards away from my apartment, would I leave my kids sleeping in the apartment. Honestly... yes, I would. With regulalr checking and all windows and doors closed. Maybe not now but I would have previously. I get your point about the back window.... Was that the one that was open?
That is the window that was open. I cannot truthfully say, if i was in a hot country and left the window slightly open that i would not have left the children sleeping and have gone for dinner 50 yards away. I know there were trees and swimming pools but is still looks like they had a clear view of the door. They did not expect anyone to come in the window! I do feel that is the issue..... someone taking a child from their bed. It is highly unlikely Maddy came out the door, into the resort, and walked past security. Someone must have taken her from that apartment.

WOW there are still people out there that think it was just a mistake to keep your child in an unlocked apt facing the road when you knew your child was a sleepwalker. There are still people out there that dont understand the fact that the only proof there is thusfar that she was indeed kidnapped is the parents word. And to compare it with putting your child in a car and driving down the road? What is that all about...there is no comparision to that whatsoever. Now if you put your child in a car unbuckled then yes you can compare that. It is amazing what people will say to justify child neglect. No BB I would not leave my kids here there or anywhere in an unlocked apt when they were just babies. I make my almost 14 year old lock the house when he is home and I am not.

Thanks for this. Frankly, I'm horrified. The McCanns cannot possibly claim that the apartment was in 'their line of sight' unless they can see around corners and through brick walls. The apartment is practically on the main road. It just beggers belief that they left the kids like that.
Thank God for the fund. They'll be able to afford a nicer place to go on holiday now. It doesn't look very nice does it?

child endangerment is, when the actions of the guardians, cause the child's welfare to be put in danger, the maccanns left three children out of eye shot, and as a result Madeleine is now missing, they are at the very least guilty of child endangerment, end of story.

The real blame is with our sick society where we allow child abusers to walk the streets. No second chance for these animals Sorry I should apologise to animals these people are lower than beasts. One conviction should mean life in prison in solitary so they cannot live out their sick fantasies with their fellow dirt.
Addendum: I see two people give this opinion the thumbs down I take it you two see child abuse both sexual and phsyical as acceptable??
