In the United States, all but two states require a couple be age 18 in order to marry without parental consent. Nebraska sets the age at 19 and Mississippi at 21 at the time of this writing (May 2003). A few states will waive this requirement if there is a pregnancy involved, but the couple may still have to have court approval.

Unfortunately there are many parents who do give their consent. There are also religious cults who perform marriage ceremonies for children, but these are not legal marriages.

In some countries, marriage can happen between anyone and anything. I believe a couple of bizarre marriages have occurred in India, but I'm not certain. One man married a mountain because it represented a god, and another man was forced to marry a goat because "He took a liking to her".
Back on the topic, marriage between children does occur in various countries where marriage is still a thing of honour and laws still aren't in place to prevent forced marriage. Actually, on that topic, i am quite shocked at the number of 16 year old girls getting married to old men. Often it is to do with religion so these people can't have sex until they're married. An associate of mine once replied that his ex-girlfriend, who was sixteen at the time had just gotten married to a 27 year old. I'm sure he was a little shattered and confused, as was I.

Yes because the parents consent to it. What's wrong with it all throughtout history this has occurred, now it is frowned upon because parents keep their children sheltered.

My grandmother got married when she was 13 and she had 14 children over the course of her life. She told me that people should be so fortunate to be married as long as she was.
