I bought a figurine made of resin, how do I alter it,
w/out the item crumbling apart?
Dissolve it? I'd rather remove it altogether than, cover it up;
it has a religious idol on it, which I absolutely abhor.
But, covering it up is ultimately better than leaving it as it is.

Most resin castings CAN be sanded, sawed or otherwise altered. Just go slow.

A little patience can go a long way.

Trash it, you will always know what was there. Covering it up does not change it. Even after you remove it, wouldn't you still be able to know what had been removed? Of course, this is a conscience matter, and the choice is yours.

If you absolutely abhor religious idolatry, you may wish to put said item into the garbage.
It will mean you lost money.
It will mean you don't enjoy the positive aspects of it.
It will also mean you have peace of mind.
