Change of name might affect in someones life because it also changes your lucky no. but its a different discussion. As per Yousaf latest interview he said that by changing my religion makes me more punctual because he has to pray 5 times a day which teaches him how to manage things and how to be punctual etc etc.... its completed changes his daily routine. He has to get up early in the morning to perform first prayer called FAJAR at around 500hrs. Get up early in the morning can change everyone's life because by doing so you can get more day times to perform your duties/practice incase of Crickter. This is what I beleive. Others may disagree :-)

I dont agree that change of religion has made Yousuf Yohanna a better player. He was one ofthe best batsmen in Pakistan Team even before he changed his religion. However, his performance in the year 2006 was the best in his carreer, which has nothing to do with the changeof religion as there are good and bad time in the carreer of every player

Changing ur name doesn't make u a better player. I think practicing makes u better player. Religion has nothing to do with it.
