All emails that say you have money are lies.
Nobody sends an email if you win money. They will always send snail mail. Even then you have to be careful, it might just be a scam.

It is a scam. After getting you to jump through all sorts of hoops with forms and information they end up with your account information. They may say this is for a direct deposit or wire transfer or whatever so they can send you the funds. Once they have your account info that is all they need to use that account to spend with, even if there isn't anything in the account. They'll use checks with that info on them until they can't any longer. If in the process they get you to give them your social security number for verification or identification or whatever reason again, they can really go to town and get credit cards, lines of credit etc which would all fall back on you and not them. If they're real, they would have the ability to send you a real cashier's check for any amount you might have won. If they won't do this, they're part of a scam.
And, lastly, somewhere along the line, you are going to have to send them a significant amount of money to get your money. Still haven't figured out how that even possibly makes sense. They'll say it is for fees or again whatever, but it isn't. They just get your money.

They send these email scams from all over the world. Suggest that you read the FBI website to read other types of scams being sent thru emails.
