Its so long its never drying out and really needs cutting.

Not at all. Remember grass normally leaks out some juice anyway. If you need to use an extension cable, I'd recommend protecting the join with a plastic bag to prevent moist getting in there.

yes, I would say it is, for your strimmer. Water will get into the electrics and burn out the motor. It could also be dangerous for you always use an RCD.

Play safe and hire a petrol strimmer.

They are usually plastic & double-insulated, so it shouldn't be an problem other than dry grass is easier to strim.

Remember to use an RCD though.

Providing the Ingress Protection Rating is sufficient it should be ok.

Go for it, what's the worst that could happen?! You could get electrocuted but at least you'll have a nice tidy garden, well except for the burning corpse.

It will be fine.I have done it before with no problems.

If it worries you,you can use hedging shears low to the ground.
