On sunday/Monday, my mom cooked kinda spicy fish, (its my favorite food, i eat fish all the time!) and it tasted great, but then i noticed when i went toilet (number 1), it smellt like the fish my mom cooked. So i had a bath and washed my areas, and for about 20 mins i didnt smell anything, but then after then smell came back. It has never happend to me befor and its starting to get me down because im starting to think people around me smell it too. Even my sister smelt it when i was laying down. Sould i see a doctor, or when the fish has digested the smell wil fade?

i want to see a doctor, but if i see a doctor im going to have to bring my mom with me, And my mom isnt the easiest to talk to. Her reason why people get yeast infections (thrush) is if they are sexualy active. I know its not true. She will just judge me and give me a lecture. One of my cousins had a yeast infection and she said my cousin was sexually active and dirty. I know that my cousin wasnt as she was m******d.

lol why would anyone judge you over this, it cant be helped.

Drink lots of water, flush your system through. do you itch at all? you might have thrush? if not just eat fruit and drink water :o)

**EDIT** Have you started your periods yet? and are you getting any sort of discharge? I remember i used to smell coming near to having my first periods, it was so embarrassing, i was so scared about going to school and people smelling it too. Maybe it could be that.

And your mum, obviously has no clue about how the female body works, and she isnt prepared to look outside the box, she sounds very religious lol, if you need advice from an adult maybe your mum has a sister which is more laid back? Everyone wants to help you on here, just do what we have all said

First of all, I'm a virgin and I've gotten so many yeast infections I can't even remember how many. So she's got that idea all wrong! Second of all, about the fish.. I really wouldn't worry about it. You don't need to see a doctor- the fish will digest through totally in a couple of days. Until then just use some body spray on your underwear and make sure that you clean/use soap. Too, it could be that you are going to get your period soon. Period blood smells like that.

Many foods change the odor of urine and can be detected when you urinate. You will even notice a color change in urine from some foods.

The odor in your urine would only last for the first or second time you urinated after eating. An oily food like fish might last longer I suppose.

But if you are sure you still have an odor five days later it is probably something else.

I would suggest you look up "yeast infections" on google and learn more about it.

Everyone's given good answers but just to add one thing. Print it out yeast infection info & give it to your mom. One of the main causes of yeast infections in young women (and I've read this numerous times & been told this by numerous doctors, including my ob/gyn brother) is wearing tight jeans with non-cotton panties! Yeast infections thrive in dark, warm, moist areas. The tightness keeps any air from getting in & the nylon or whatever really seals it - cotton breathes (lets air circulate) but the other materials don't. Even if you don't wear tight jeans, the wrong fabric undies will put you at heightened risk. Another common cause: imbalance in the ph (acidic vs. alkaline) of the vaginal environment from using douches, sprays, bubble baths (reallly common cause in children - I was shocked when I learned that when my daughter was little! no more soaking in bubble baths for her). As to where the yeast comes from in the first place? EVERYONE has it on their skin - it just depends if it gets the conditions that enable it to thrive. And tell your mom another mom said this: everyone's entitled to their opinion, but only after they know all the facts! ;o)

Drink lots of water and cranberry juice. That should help flush out whatever toxins you consumed that are making your downstairs smell different.

If you develop other symptoms, (like itching, burning, smell gets worse, pain, vaginal discharge) you will need to make an appointment with your gyno. Those are signs of a UTI. We all get them at least once in our lifetime, even if no sexual activity is happening.

I would recommend letting your mom know because this definitely sounds like an infection could be going on, but the only way to know for sure is to have this evaluated by your dr.
