I know how a cooker works, and a kettle, and a heater.
But microwaves oooooooooo spooky.
Is this an alien technology that is perhaps doing us more harm than good?
Cancer, disease that may not yet be explained?

Hold a bag of popcorn about one foot in front of the oven while you're cooking something. If the popcorn pops, you may have a problem. If not, don't worry, be happy.

PS It's those power lines in front of your house you should be worried about.....

A quick way to tell if your microwave is leaking is to start it and hold a florescent bulb in front of it. If the bulb lights the over is leaking. That's scary.
I think it is because it is a little box capable of doing big damage to food that it intimidates us. I don't understand how the fridge works either. But it doesn't scare me.

No they are safe, modern day microwaves seals in all of the microwaves produced inside.

Microwaves work in a frequency that effects the movement of water molecules in order to produce heat from it.

It doesn't freak me out. It's amazing technology haha.

Buy an easy-to-use one if it's troubling you.

I'm not sure if it is too deadly but I've been taught not to stand directly infront of the microwave for at least ten metres or it can send out radiation waves or some kind of waves.
