I'm looking for a place where I can get in a pool, have a video of myself made (like you see when they analyze swimmers' form in televised competitions), have a coach analyze my form, and then spend 30 minutes or so in the pool with the coach helping me with my form. I don't want to attend a longer swim camp. And I'm not a competitive swimmer; I just do laps for exercise. My target area is around Chicago, but I'm flexible about combining such a lesson with a vacation to another part of the country.

It is unusual to have your video analyzed without putting some time in the water and correcting your stroke which is why most of these types of analysis occur at camps. What you could do is contact one of these camps and see if they offer a one-day video camp or could direct you to one. I know Nike offers video analysis at camps, I've had it done numerous times.

Endless Pools, as mentioned above, also offers this service. You could call them and see if they have any pools in your area that offer this service.

Otherwise you may have to engaged a private univeristy or college coach as many larger schools offer this service to their swimmers routinely.

Good luck, stroke analysis by video is funny, fun and educational as well as slightly embarassing as you look at yourself and say "geez do I really look like that underwater?!"

In England we have stationary pools with cameras all around. The pool is like a treadmill for running with a constant flow of water. The speed can go up to 20mph, faster than anyone can need. In the pools they can cameras in all walls and floor and for a small price they have a DVD made of you swimming. I think the company is actually called 'endless pool'
