I'm 5'2, 170 lbs. I wear a size 15 or XL. I'm working out and losing weight, but I want to learn how I can look beautiful now. I haven't always been fat, when I was 18, I was a size 5. I got fat during pregnancy and never lost the weight. I'm not used to dressing like a fat person, and I'm having a hard time excepting it. I still want to wear cute stylish clothes, but most of the stylish brands don't make a size bigger than 13, and a lot of them don't make sizes bigger than a 9 or 10. I want to find out how I can dress where I will still look beautiful in a size 15. Also, since it's summer, I'm having a really hard time finding a swimsuit that looks ok. I bought a string bikini, because it's all I've ever had for swimsuits, but I keep myself covered when I wear it. It's like just for decoration under my beach clothes. I want to get a tan, but I can't get one if I'm too self concious to wear my swim suit in public. (no tanning beds, and no privacy to lay out) I need advice.

The fastest way a woman can look better is to smile and carry yourself with confidence. I think many women can be overweight and still be in good shape, bone skinny isn't attractive either. Make sure your weight program has some excellent aerobic exercise, something to hep burn calories and get good muscle tone.

First of all, start by reminding yourself that you are beautiful. Then, look in that mirror and smile. Small steps do make a big difference.

I would also consider shopping at Lane Bryant or other stores that are fashionable but cater to the fuller figure. My sis is very short and round and she has gotten alot of cute things from there. (She is about your height and weight.) Focus on buying alot of darker jeans, pants and skirts, while getting brighter patterned tops and some snug t-shirts (Not so tight you see every flaw but just enough to enhance what you got). And heaven forbid, stay away from from baggy clothes! Big clothes don't hide things, they just make you look bigger.

For going to the beach, honey, you need to make the most of what you got. I am telling you that as long as you build up your confidence you can look fabulous... No matter where you go or what you are doing. A good swimsuit choice would be something in a nice navy blue with a halter top style tie and some embellishment under the bust. This will draw attention upward toward your face and will aid in "blocking out" your lower portion. (I am not sure of how else to put that... Sorry it was not more eloquent)

And speaking of moving eyes upward, go splurge on getting your hair done and get some new makeup. i know when I have been down about weight post baby and stuff these things made me feel so much better.

Also, I am not trying to make you lose weight or get "skinny" but starting walking about 20-30 minutes 3 times a week may increase your self confidence. Cuz when your body feels good, you feel good!

I do hope that this helps!

Well I've been taking green tea with hoodia and I exercise everyday. But before I started taking the diet pills, I weighed 145 and I'm 5'3'' and I've been on the diet pills going on 4 weeks and I have lost 10 lbs so far. But I had to make some sacrifices like not going out to fast food restuarants, no more dr. peppers and sweets. I've been drinking diet drinks now, and water. Its really hard to start with, and your gonna have to wanna lose weight before you start this, because if u dont want to it will not work. The best thing to do is NOT to skip breakfast and eat like alittle bit every couple hours. I'll give you some examples of what I eat that isnt so fattening.Well at 8,I take my diet pill. For Breakfast I eat either cereal or granola bar around 8:30 and then at 10 I'll eat a little snack, such as (sliced peaches (3) , or 1 mini muskateer bar, or fat free pudding (only 1) I just switch out on the snacks everyday, then I take my diet pill at 11:30 a.m., then at 12 dinner time I eat either a Tuna sandwich, tomato sandwich, pineapple sandwich, sliced turkey/fat free cheese sandwich, but I also use the wheat bread and light mayo. And around 6 p.m. I eat mostly vegetables such as green beans, asparagus, squash, broccoli,etc... And for meat it is Baked Chicken. Then about 30 mins-1hr I go and exercise for at least 20 mins or so. I dont know what to tell on the clothes. sorry. But I hope that I have gave you some good tips on how to lose weight!! :) Well hope it works for ya and good luck!!

There is not a lot of advice to give, because much of what you can or cannot wear depends not only on your weight, but also on your current body shape: its proportions, where the weight is distributed etc. For example, you may be top heavy but still have nice legs, or your hips may still be slim etc. So I'll make just a few general suggestions.

First, invest in good undergarments (control top, seamless, very well fitted, lots of support) so they would not create additional bulges and unsightly lines.

Second, don't buy a lot of new clothes (you're going to lose weight so they'll be too big for you soon anyway), but when you buy, buy quality. Look at how well they are cut and finished, at the texture and quality of the fabric. Slender, athletic girls can wear stuff that's not necessarily top of the line in terms of quality, and people'll just notice how well it fits them, but in your case cut and fabric are important.

Third, don't buy baggy, large or oversize clothing. A lot of people who gain weight think that they'd hide it this way, but all it does is make them look shapeless and bigger than they actually are. Don't go for shape hugging, tight stuff either, but for something that follows your body shape while hiding love handles, rolls and bulges. I can't be more specific without knowing your body shape. Use colors, but don't make them excessively bright, it tends to make you look larger, and don't use one color from head to toe, it has the same effect.

One thing that my overweight friends do very well is to wear basic, slimming colors, and play with accessories and accents. In the evening for example, it's basic black, but the halter strap of their top would be glitter, or studded with small but bright rhinestones. They'd invest in colorful and trendy purses and matching colorful shoes or sandals, use an eye catching piece of jewelery around their necks, or funky rings and earrings to add style to the outfit. You get my drift... Fortunately, the current fashion allows you to play with that, what with oversize bags and colorful ballet flats, and strappy sandals.

Just look at the parts of your body that you find attractive despite your weight, and play them up. Best of luck!!!

I agree with you battling the bulge is a world wide problem, I guess you need to tone yourself and for that you need to sweat and that means you need to exercise - so enroll for aerobics. There is no instance cure for the flab.
Secondly if you want to try your beach clothes - don’t look into the mirror and feel dejected there are tons of chubby people out there so just wear your swimsuit with confidence and if you think that you want to cover wear a bright colored beach sarong on the navel line not too low or you would land up showing your tummy. And SPORT A SMILE that does a lot of wonders it does make you feel confident. Just forget your physical self and enjoy the nature around you.

Beauty is only skin deep it's the person you are inside that counts so don't EVER allow anyone to tell you any different.

Just remember overweight people can be just as pretty as skinny people! And wear what fits your personality! Wear shirts to show a little cleavage and cute fitted jeans! Wear dresses if you like them too! Put on as little make up cuz natural beauty is the best way to go! :)

You're not fat. The first thing is to be comfortable with yourself, and to tell yourself "I am beautiful." Second is to go to stores like Torrid, or to go to Torrid's website. The smallest size they have there is a 12, and the clothes are really cute. Plus, they have nice swimsuits there.

The main thing that makes heavy women look bad it when they try to dress like that size 5 person. When you buy clothes, take a good look at how they look. Are they binding? Do they fit like a smock? Just take an honest look at the way they fit.

vanity sells cute clothes in those sizes... but their pants are by waist/length like how guy's sizes are... they go up to something like from a 24? to 34 or 36 waist and like anywhere from 29 length to 37 length... i like buying pants like that cause im only 5'1 so its nice to get pants that aren't way too long
