These are terms that I am learning, and though I have been pillion-ing for the last 7 years, in all the bike conversations that have arisen from the different riders I have met, no-one once called the bike a different name bar the one that it had (i.e. blackbird, CBR etc) It wasn't until I got onto this site that the different names started to be used, so it will be interesting to see what true answers actually come up!

Maybe the people you know. Not the ones I know. I never heard of a spaghetti rocket.

A motorcycle is a motorcycle, sometimes called a bike.

I would get your riding friend a good balaclava. This is the ski-mask-looking thing you see racers wear under their helmets. The balaclava is great because it is so versatile. You can wear it with just the eyes showing, and the bottom tucked in under your jacket, for when it's fairly chilly, or roll it up into a beanie hat when you're not on the bike, or you can pull it back, putting your whole head through the face hole, so that the balaclava just sits around your neck as a neck warmer. Most riding supply retailers sell balaclavas.

rice burners are cars. Rice rockets are motorcycles.

Most of the time they're "crotch rockets" or "road hogs"... down south ive heard them called iron horses a few times (a la Bon Jovi)
