Have 2 desktops for office. Trying to connect to wireless router that is a floor below us. Have a voip system. Once desktops are connected wirelessly, can I plug the voip router (linksys 54g/wph ports) into desktop via eithernet. Will this work? According to voip you are supposed to connect modem/internet directly from modem.

This probably will not work with standard 802.11g routers. You can try it but don't expect very good results.
You will need to enable "internet connection sharing" on the computer you attempt to connect the VOIP device and setup the router connection.

The other reason this porbably won't work well is that you will probably get a Private IP from the wireless connection and when you enable internet connection shares you will add another private IP thus routing behind two internal networks. This will probably add some additional delay which VOIP does not like.

Most likely, only concern is the speed of the wireless if it is too noisy, I had Pocket Skype on through an 11b card no problem.
