It would be constitutional, whereas the income tax is not! The Fair tax is a consumption tax, just like a sales tax. I am all for the fair tax, and I am a liberal! I despise the income tax, and the IRS, and I always have. But, when I saw America from Freedom to Fascism, I began to despise them 100 times more, than I did before. This is one of the things that need to change yesterday!

a sales tax is always more of a burden on the low income person. it means they pay the same amount as a wealthy person. same with a value added tax. nobody likes taxes, but there seems to be nobetter solution to raising the money needed to operate our system of government

and this is conservatives??? no i think you have it backward. the author of the largest tax increase in us history was a liberal bill clinton, the taxation of social security breaking a fifty year promise to this nations elderly was decided through tie break by a liberal, al gore. after finally getting releif from the clinton tax fiasco, nancy pelosi, leader of the pelosi/reid regime has gone on record as saying, we have no choice but to raise taxes, a liberal. tax and spend or the free lunch is the cornerstone of failed liberal policy. thankfully WORKING americans now are beginning to understand that. again, you have it backwards.
