"No" is used much more often. I have four children and they are always asking for something I will not let them have or to do something I will not let them do. When ever I say, "Do you know..." all I get is "Oh, dad! Yes we know." Unsaid is "Yes, we know, we know everything. We've heard it a thousand times..."

Sound negative? I do NOT KNOW...
