When we forgot something and want to try to remember it, we automatically close our eyes and think deeply.
But does it really help? how much percent?

I want a proffessional answer for this...

I'm not a professional...
But here's a possible answer as I'm studying brain-related material.

Each brain cell in your brain is capable of processing about 100 MHz of information. It's processing power is divided between input, thought process and memory recollection.

Your five senses take up a lot of processing power - which the highest one is visual. By closing your eyes you're actually removing that sensory input and your brain can then use that portion to do other jobs, such as trying to access your long term memory.

It may not be a perfect scientific answer - I'm sure a professional will give you the exact answer....

I dont think so, but then again, that is not a professional opinion.
I know by experience that when I try to remember something, my eyes just go out of focus and I probably look crossed eyed to an observer. I would simply tune out.
However, for forgotten memories, heck, they are forgotten, so would you EVEN try to remember when you KNOW there is nothing to remember?

Ok, I believe that you meant something such as the face of your best friend or aunt or uncle when you were a child and you are trying to conjure up this image from your memory banks, all long forgotten.
You draw a big blank. You close your eyes, and try harder. Still nothing. You start to panic. These were precious memories.
Open some photographs. That will help. If nothing helps, go to a doctor. You may have suffered some trauma, memory block or loss due to illness, shock, brain damage or it is an early sign of some other problems.

hi frnd

yes it will help u to a certain.but whn u close ur eyes ur mind should be free.....ur whole body should be free&u must sit in a surrounding were no noises r heard.this is because we people r always engaged in some or the other work.so our brain is always engaged.so sometimes suddenly we cant remember somethings as we already hav some other thoughts in our brain .our brain as certain limits...it cant work beyond tht.actually not only whn u forget something we r adviced tht u should relax ur mind close ur eyes and leave ur body atleast for 15 min a day .itz a very gud thing to keep ur body refreshed and gives rest to our nervous system
