ds lite help!!?

Question

castle vania(dawn of sorrow)after i equipped the flying armor soul..i can't jump to the next room..it says that''jump and in the middle of your jump,
hold R to float a little longer than normal so you can get to the next room''but it doesn't work..how can i passed it?

You have to be in a higher ledge and time your jumps pretty well to work fine.
