How do you know if you or someone is gay?

Ask the person.
It is still best to get to the source, that is, if you are close to that "someone", rather than ask around, then you really are just gossiping, or worse, draw a conclusion from thin air, thus making you judgmental.

Or maybe, ask yourself this, "why do you want to know if that 'someone' is gay or not?" Then maybe, you need not look far for the answer you are seeking.

You'll know if you're gay if you fantasize about the same sex in a sexual manner. You can't be sure if others are gay unless they say so. Some gay guys have higher pitched voices and some lesbians look/act more butch, but that doesn't always means they're homosexual. There are plenty of manly gays and womanly lesbians. Only they know and it's not the sort of thing you should go around asking them either. They'll tell you if they want you to know.

If you are gay, you will know at an early age you are different from the other guys...you may not know exactly how you are different, but you will know. I knew at 6 years old I was different, long before I knew anything about sex. I was mesmerized by the sight of well built men with their shirts off. Don't even think I made a "choice" about this..that is more than an ignorant thought. As for knowing others are gay....no real way to know unless you have been to bed with them.

As for yourself, ask yourself what you do and what you like. Are you attracted to members of your same sex? Do you sleep with members of your same sex?

As for others, well, if it is your business, they will tell you, or you can simply ask. Outside of that, one way would be to know who they sleep with. There may be things about their mannerisms, like the way they look at people, if a guy ignores attractive women and stares at attractive men, for example. If you deal with mediums and can read auras, you may be able to tell that way.

Outside of the above, there aren't too many reliable indicators. Don't go by voice, walk, clothing, rumors, etc. These methods of detection sometimes fail. Someone who is injured may "walk funny." Someone with a speech impediment may talk funny. In addition, there are some effeminate heterosexual and asexual males. Nerds are often misread as gay. Back before earrings were popular in men, a number straight men wore them anyway, at least in just one ear. Some people are just non-conformists and invent their own way of dress and take no cues from culture or sexuality. As for rumors, some people are just unfair targets. People with Aspergers are often targeted for scapegoating and teasing for no reason of their own.

I'd know if I was gay if I were attracted exclusively to men. Same goes with anybody else. Those who are attracted to the same sex are gay. At least in my book.

i guess you'd know about yourself and are asking because you're interested in that person? othewise why would you care?
if you are interested in the person, try throwing some hints about... but dont be all mae west, because that might turn some people off...
if its someone you can confide in, just ask/tell him.
and... be prepared, even if the person is indeed gay doesnt necessarily mean something will come out of it, just like not every straight guy makes it with every straight girl (although lots of them would love to)

well it depends.If your a girl and your atracted to other girlz and really don't care much for guys.Than your gay.Or if your interested in guys and girls then your bi.I know you know what those meen and i didn't really need to tell you.But who are you most attracted to? this should be answered from you.
