NOT NECESSARILY... I believe kids are part of their parents but not completely... When a person develop their personality it depends on the people they social with, their parents, their experiences, and their enviornment... I always believed all those factors contributes to your belief and to an extent of who you are. I have the same habits and some thinking of my parents, but I am nothing like them. A parent is important in a child's life probably up to 18 years, of course you will always have a part of them be an important influence... but then again some people never had parent

Well in most cases, yes. I mean, they grow up with them, and are cared from them and are raised from them. Like have you noticed that most of the people that have smoked have had a parent or grandparent that have smoked?? It is true. Both of my parents smoke, and I had my first cigarette @ age 6 or 7. But I dont plan on getting "in the habit" anytime soon. lol. And thats not just with smoking, but with certain habits that the kids have picked up from their parents. Like my mom seems very bad-tempered and everyone says that I have her temper and attitude, but my dad's sensitivity and forgiveness. And it also is a reflection on how the parent raised you. If they ended up abusing you, you would most likely end up abusing your own. But if you actually realize that you DEFINITELY should not have been treated this way then you would end up loving your children and making sure that everything mistake that your parents made with you, you wouldn't make with them.

And yes, from my own experience the saying "The apple doesnt fall far from the tree" is very understandable and i realize that the tree is very successful in making a happy and healthy apple..

Now I think so, in some ways. I see myself having the little habits and quirks that my parents have. Although in general, I'm a totally different person. Maybe because my parents were born and raised in a different country under a totally different enviroment than me.

It may not fall far, but can grow it's own branches! I have good and bad traits that can be traced to mom and dad but many that are uniquely my own.

I think it depends, i don´t like generalizations at all.

Some kids turn out to be like their parents and some don´t.
