personally i have to go with 2001 dbacks vs yanks. sept 11 loomed over this series like a vulture and america leaned on these teams to take their minds away from everything for a couple hours. also after kim gave up game wining homers on consecutive nights...no one thought the dbacks could win. dbacks were the true underdog and it stopped the yanks "dynasty"...they havent been back to the series since.

by far the most entertaining, emotional, inspirational, heart warming, heart breaking, whatever you wanna call it. best ever.

what do you think?

The 02 comeback by the Angels was great stuff... no doubt about it. The anticipation of the Red Sox breaking the curse was good too.

But for sheer drama i'd have to give it the gutsy performances of The Big Unit and Curt "bloody sock" Schilling.

Truly riveting.

Plus it had the charm of a fairly new club going up against the most storied franchise in baseball history.

Completely biased here but I'd have to go with '02 between the Angels and Giants.

The all California series prevented the whole country from being interested but it was amazing baseball. Back and forth all series and an unbelievably awesome Game Six to save the Angels from elimination.

If I'm not mistaken ESPN.com voted it the 10th best series ever... So, yeah, it was quality baseball.

I loved watching Josh Beckett single handedly beat the Yankees in the 2003 WS. It was an awesome series to watch!

The best world series of the new millennium hands down was the red sox vs. the yankees. Who would have thought two american league teams would have made it this far. just kidding . I would have to say 01 d'backs vs. yankees.

2002. Tightly played series, it was The Barry Show! -- he really did demolish the Angels every time at bat -- and it was, overall, a fun series. Throw in the weirdness of Baker's kid getting underfoot and this one just had everything but a no-hitter.

2001 a close second.

2004 for history in the making.
