I drive a 1995 Buick Regal with 98,000 miles on it. Lately, my A/C has been blowing hot air and I need to get it fixed to make it through the summer months. I just need to know how much it's going to cost me. I've heard everything from $50 to $400.

Thanks.

somebody gave you sturdy suggestion, yet there is an extra step i might take, it ought to keep you some funds too. First, after the device has not greater stress (assuming it does not now) then take aside each connection in the traces and replace all the previous o-jewelry. ninety 9% of the time while a device has a gradual leak, its from the o-jewelry, and confirm you employ ones made for 134r, you will get the appropriate ones from a Pontiac broking. After changing them, then draw the device down with a vacuum pump, after it somewhat is drawn down, then upload the oil, dye and freon. look at for leaks as quickly because it somewhat is finished. each and each device calls for a definite form of oil, and a definite quantity of pounds of freon. i've got self belief your device takes around 2.2 pounds of freon (yet!!! make confident beforehand you commence procuring freon or including it, and confirm you have a stress gauge, over pressurizing the device would reason it to explode)

i'm not sure exactly what the problem is with your a/c but alot of the time older cars' a/c will just kinda go out. if that's the case you just need to buy this stuff called freeon, it just a booster for your air...making it cold again. i think it costs around $20 but you need to know how to put it in, so maybe someone you know will now how to. otherwise you can go to a body shop and they can do it. good luck!

Expect to pay closer to the upper end of your quotes to have it repaired properly.
Depending on whether the compressor died or the system bled out, you would need it leak tested and repaired, or buy a new or used compressor and have them removed and installed.
If it just bled out, I would suggest buying a 134a conversion kit and a can of sealer and converting it. It's a rather easy and straightforward process.
