d b , I realise that you're one of the top dogs on here, but can you please READ the question?

I never said he was a GOOD OC, just AN OC.

You've missed the point completely.

Should he? Yes. Will he? I don't know. He is a great offensive coordinator and is amazing with developing young QBs. I just don't see him as a guy who can coach and lead an entire team.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. What makes you think Norv Turner is a good OC? He earned a reputation while he was in charge of the likes of Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin, Novacek, Moose Johnston, and that awesome OL that Dallas had.

These are how his offenses fared statistically since he left Dallas.

1994 Redskins - 19th
1995 Redskins - 16th
1996 Redskins - 16th
1997 Redskins - 19th
1998 Redskins - 12th
1999 Redskins - 2nd
2000 Redskins - 11th ***
2001 Chargers - 15th
2002 Dolphins - 15th
2003 Dolphins - 24th
2004 Raiders - 20th
2005 Raiders - 21st
2006 49ers - 26th

***2000 Redskins were 11th in offense (yards) but 24th in scoring, so they could move the ball between the 20's but could not punch the ball into the end zone.

Norv Turner has placed ONE offense in the top 10 in 13 years since he left Dallas, yet he still has this reputation as being an outstanding OC. How? He's been in the bottom 10 more times than the top 10.

------------

enigma- you missed the point. Turner is not even an OC, he's a lousy OC. Most of the comments were for someone higher in the chain that said something about him being a "Great" OC.

Yeah, if Norv can't succeed with the amazingly talented team he has on both sides of the ball, he should stick to OC. I honestly thought San Diego was going to take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy, even though I bleed orange and blue!
