I'm going swimming tomorrow with some of my friends, and I'm on my period. However, I love to swim, and I really want to. However, I don't know if it's safe to swim. I know I'm supposed to use a tampon, but is any blood going to come out by any chance? And if I'm swimming for about two or more hours, what should I do?

You HAVE to use a tampon at all times. But if it is your first time using a tampon, dont swim. B/c usually when you first use tampons you leak. And that would be so grose/embarassing to leave a blood spot in the pool. Go in your swimsuit and wear a tampon and a pad, but wear shorts or sofies over your bottom swimsuit so noone can see the pad. You will have plenty of other chances to swim in the summer! Just use tampons a lot and get use to them first.

if you wear a tampon in the pool, it wont leak out, it is perfectly safe to swim. A tampon should last up to 8 hours if you use a super tampon. So being in the pool with one in for a couple hours should be no problem

I am pretty sure that if you use a tampon you will be fine. No blood should come out unless you are having an extremely heavy period that is too much for your pad or tampon to handle. Go and have fun!

Found out a few days ago. I was pushed into the pool and that is what i was worried about. Well as soon as i went into the water and i was fully wet it stopped. But if you go to the beach use a tampon just for extra protection. My friend doesnt use anything and she is just fine.

Don't worry about leaking. Your vagina is tight on the tampon, and no water can get in. Swimming may even ease any cramps you have, and slow down the flow.
