I mean why in the world would Sherri Martel have been on steroids when shes not even in WWE/WWF anymore? HELLO there are other ways wrestlers can die besides steroids!
On Fox they were talking about her death and they said they asked someone in her family is she was on steroids and were like pretty much blaming steroids for that too!

Please note: I'm refering to Sherri's death, not Benoits directly. So don't start talking about Benoit being on steroids, even that hasn't been completely proven, but i'm not even referring to him.

it's a ratings game.
the news is usually biased as to not offend viewers.
if they say something negative towards a celebrity and offend the masses of viewers, they lose ratings.
steroids = handy scapegoat.

I think its just due to people being uninformed about pro wrestling. They're not fans, they only know bits and pieces, and just assume every single wrestler is abusing steroids, when that is simply not the case. They're just capitilizing on some cases about some wrestlers using steroids, and its just something people assume. Just because Benoit was using steroids, there is no proof as of yet that he was abusing them, or if they definitely played a role in all this. The media should look at the facts before jumping on the same old tired thing they've been accusing wrestling of for 20+ years.

Because the media likes to put blame to Wrestling in general. They don't like the sport for one reason or another and so they degrade anything and everything about it.
And blaming the deaths on steroids makes it a easier way for them to get their paychecks. They can't come up with a new reason so they look at the "un original" reason: Steroids.
And steroids can give you some problems down the road, way after you take it(years).

It is because steroids are rampant in sports today and especially wrestling. It is also something you have to keep up to keep your body looking the way you made it on the steroids. Steroids. It becomes a mental thing too. You end up craving the rush.
Steroids don't just ruin your body physically but they also turn people into a$$h0l3$ who loose control of their emotions and anger. Do a search on how many wrestlers have died under 50 YO or gotten violent outside the ring, steroids has a lot to do with that.

Really. That's what I though too. Wrestlers die from normal things just like we do. They get in car wrecks, get murdered, that sort of thing. Just because they're a wrestler doesn't mean they even took steroids, let alone DIED from them. They need to be a bit more sensitive and investigate a little farther before they say that.

DUH...because every wrestler that has died in the past has passed away because of steroid related issues. Hmm... British Bulldog, Eddie Guerrero, Rick Rude, Curt Henning etc. What other sport do you see players dying? Don't worry I'll wait.......OK only in wrestling. Look at how ripped Chris Benoit was, come on steroids. Look at how Hulk Hogan's body is sagging....STEROIDS!! I hate to see people die, but when we find any other way wrestler can die, show me. (other than wrestling related accidents)

At this point the cause of her death is still unknown, but not natural causes.
on a side note, it was rumored that she was in a relationship with Kevin, Nancy benoits ex husband. interesting considering she died one week before the benoits.
as for the Roids thing, on fox sports net they had an interview with chyna. She claimed that most of the wrestlers were doing roids, even the women. She also stated that she refused to use them herself.

I think its because they want to find a way to blame the business for their deaths. Look when you are an athlete you know going in that more than likely you are shortening your life due to the wear and tear you put on your body. Its part of the business. Pro athletes that participate in contact sports die younger than the general population and that just how it is.

I think a lot of it has to do with the reputation of professional sports and athletes who have used drugs in the past to enhance their physical abilities. Can you imagine what that drug does to your insides and to your mind if it makes your outsides look like Mr. Universe? It's a scary drug. But, on the other hand, I don't think they should blame steroids until they know if he was even using them and to what extent. I do know that his doctor was treating him for LOW steroid levels brought on by when he used to do them - which tells me he had stopped doing them and was taking them because his steroid level got too low. That's just my opinion, of course.

Because most of them are either on or have been on steroids. That's why. It's a proven fact.
